 My Qualifications :

I started out working as a teenager in a family construction business, framing new custom homes in the early 80's.  I worked weekends, summers, and any free time I had. I loved being a part of the process from beginning to end. All this while attending 3 years of Technical School for electricity. Immediately after graduation, I accepted a job with the electrical company that was wiring the homes I had been building. I continued to go to night school while working. Four years later I passed my electrical exam to be an electrician in Massachusetts and then 1 year later in Rhode Island. After working for 10 years as an electrician I needed a change. I then accepted a job removing and installing oil and gas boilers in everything from single family homes, to big high rise buildings, to large hotels. During this time I went back to school and obtained my Oil Burner Tech License. After several years, I took an offer from my brother to become partners and go back to building new custom and spec homes, where I was a supervisor/project manager. After 2 1/2 years and building over 50 homes our company was dissolved.  I decided to return to more hands on work again, so I began working with a long time friend and highly skilled finish carpenter. For 2 years we did high end custom finish work in large subdivisions, exclusively. When that came to a halt, in 2003, I decided to work for myself remodeling kitchens & baths, hardwoods floors & tile spa showers, decks, finished basements/attics, and much more. This continues to be my chosen profession.

During this time period I have also bought, completely remodeled, and sold four multi-unit buildings. These buildings were my investment properties where I had to rent, repair and manage them. These were my side projects to keep me busy, while maintaining a my clients and their needs.

I moved to Virginia from Massachusetts for my wife's job in 2012. We have now moved back to Newport, RI where I look forward to the adventure of meeting and working with new clients and contractors as well as the ones from before.
